attire, and the costs of sheet music and rehearsal MP3 files.
The members of Los Cantantes work together toward our mutual success. We share the duties, whatever they may be, such as ticket sales, and set-up and tear-down of concert events. Many hands do make light work!
Auditions are held before each season begins: in September for the December concert, and in January for the Spring Concert. Your first step is to complete the “Join Us” form at the bottom of this page.
The audition procedure is simple, and non-threatening! Each candidate is asked to sing one prepared song, and to sing a maximum of 16 bars from that song. You may choose any song, and you may sing in any language. Opera arias are, however, discouraged.
Please bring two copies of your music to the audition. You will be asked to vocalize with the Music Director, and to demonstrate your ability to sight-read music.
You may bring your own accompanist, or one will be provided for you. Auditions last approximately 20 minutes. We invite you to join Los Cantantes del Lago!
If you have questions about the above, you may contact Los Cantantes del Lago's Music Director, Timothy G. Ruff Welch, at Tim@LosCantantesDelLago.com.
Los Cantantes del Lago is a community choir. We offer anyone who loves music the opportunity to sing and improve their vocal skills, in a friendly and congenial environment.
New members are encouraged to be musically literate, able to read rhythmical and musical notation. Choir members may not miss more than two rehearsals during a concert season. All absences should be discussed with the Music Director.
Members of Los Cantantes do not pay membership dues. However, there are some financial obligations attached to membership, such as the cost of concert
